Earth is the planet we live on and we must take care of it, there is no other! Sustainable living is a lifestyle that attempts to reduce an individual or society's use of the Earth's natural resources.
Why recycle?
Environmental pollution is one of the biggest problems affecting our planet. In addition to harmful gases emitted by industries, vehicles and heating systems, solid waste also puts a strain on the atmosphere, such as plastic. One of the biggest problems is the amount of plastic we use daily because it is our normality, and we often use it and throw it away without thinking twice, after all "... it's just a straw ...". Tech's Sustainability Club stated, "Recycling helps the Earth, which in turn helps us live better. We help keep the Earth a cleaner place by reusing what we already have instead of creating more waste." Plastic never goes away. Plastic never degrades. Plastic stays in the environment. And most of the time it is so small that it cannot even be seen with the naked eye, ending up in our water and food. The land and ocean have become our garbage bin: in 2014, an estimated 268,940 tons of plastic were counted in the ocean, 80% of which came from land-based sources. The marine ecosystem is suffering because of all the plastic pollution in the oceans.
How to address the problem
In order to try to limit environmental damage, it is important to take preventative measures that reduce waste production. One of the best moves in this regard is to recycle and reuse materials that would otherwise be thrown away, creating volumes of polluting garbage. We created plastic and used it without a plan for how to deal with it in the future. It is used everywhere and takes hundreds of years to disintegrate to a point where the human eye can no longer see it. We can try to avoid most of the plastic we use; it is thought to be all or nothing, but in reality if we all made a few small changes to how we live, even one person could make a difference. The greatest threat to our planet is the belief that someone else will save it. Millions of people are already making small daily changes that have a big impact on our planet. (read also + internal link to article WASTE WATER) It can be recycled in the most varied ways: reprocessed plastic can become fabric for clothes and accessories, padding, reusable shopping bags and napkins, building materials, and everything that has always been made of plastic can also be made of recycled plastic. Recycling is fundamental and, in addition to helping the environment, it allows us to create new useful objects with less economic expenditure. Plastic harms people, the environment, but also the economy itself: environmental cleanup, ecosystem degradation, reduction of life expectancy and medical care exceed 100 billion dollars a year.
The OWN OFF WITH NATURE brand is at the forefront of addressing this, as well as many other issues with a strong environmental impact: the materials are 100% organic and, where plastic is functionally necessary, it is replaced with recycled plastic.
